Hi Everyone, there appears to be some confusion about Newark Military Fair and the Northern Arms Fair on the Sunday 18th April 2021 (Similar Shows. With similar names)
Newark Military Fair – Is Not Taking Place – Cancelled
Northern Arms Fair (a smaller military event) Is On (Contact them on 01423 780759 to confirm)
Hope this makes sense – Mark Askew, Jeep Promotions Ltd 6/4/21
Welcome to Newark Militaria Fair (Formerly Northern Military Expo)
NEXT SHOW : SUNDAY 7th November 2021
Coronavirus (COVID-19) DUE TO RECENT GOVERNMENT RULES
As we all know the Government rules, on Gatherings etc are changing all the time. Which is 100% Understandable and the best way forward for everyone.
So obviously we have cancelled Newark Militaria Fair for the 18th April 2021. We still plan to run our next event later this year – 7th November. But of course this ‘May’ change!
So, we shall put any changes etc on this website ASAP when we know more. So please keep your eyes on this website for updates Or join our newsletters for updates and Facebook etc. So please ignore any other rumours or chit chat etc. This is the official way to find out. So please keep your eyes peeled on the website etc (even if its the night before) to check if any of our planed dates are ON!
We’ve had literally loads of people asking is Newark in April on, the short answer is No. We have been working on the layout of the show to satisfy the local council guidelines and SAG, BUT this has changed (and keeps changing), so it makes a lot of uncertainty when trying to organise an event like Newark Militaria in April. If it did go ahead the layout would be very different to previous years as we will need to have all the doors open and a one way system in operation, there will be NO food outlets inside. Stalls would have 2 metres spacing between them (Thus = less stalls). And which ever future event you came to, everyone would be required to wear a face covering including the public, this is in all our interests of personal safety, if you cannot adhere to this ruling for future events, then please donít come to the event as you will not be allowed on the premises.
Please bear in mind that all district councils are interpreting these rules differently (and are changing weekly) so what may work in one county may not work in another one, we are working very closely with the Showground, SAG and County Council to make this happen if at all possible for November.
Costs of running this show are now rising, More barriers, Hand sanitiser stations, Hall markings, signs, Toilet staff, more staff needed to run this event, 2 metres spacing between traders/stalls (Thus = less stalls) thus making the gamble/running costs etc, out weighing putting this event on. Hence part of the reason for not putting it on etc. Not forgetting everyone’s Health and health risks due to Covid19. If it gets worse over the winter months (of which as we all know, they are predicting this), itís just not worth risking everyoneís health by going ahead with this event. Your health, Traders and our Staff etc. Itís just not worth the risk.
Any traders that have already paid for their stalls, we shall carry their payment and stalls over to our next event on 7th November 2021 in the Crocker Halls etc.
Thank you all for your help and understanding, Stay safe, look after everyone (Family & Friends etc) and we hope to see everyone very soon.
Mark Askew and Staff 27/2/2021
(Next event 7th November 2021 Hopefully!)
Please SHARE this post as much as possible to get the message out there, we will put updates on here and the website as any news develops, itís pointless trying to put adverts in the normal magazines because of deadlines and the uncertainty of the situation.
# If All Covid restrictons and guidelines have been removed by November – The Show will go ahead.
# However if All Covid restrictons and guidelines have not been removed by November – The Show may not go ahead?
1 – Well, Having to cancel April’s 2020 event, we lost over £4k mainly in pre-show advertising etc. Which of course we could not cancel. And if we have to do the same again, and it gets cancelled again, at the last minute – another £4k down the drain! Think you get the picture!
2 – Costs of running this show are now rising, More barriers, Hand sanitiser stations, Hall markings, signs, Toilet staff, more staff needed to run this event, 2 metres spacing between traders/stalls (Thus = less stalls), or hire another hall = more expense ñ thus making the gamble/running costs etc, out weighing putting this event on. Hence part of the reason for this thinking etc.
3 – If the local council guidelines and SAG are not met, the show could get cancelled. We have to pay them for pre-show meetings, meeting on the show pre-set up days. And they can turn up on the morning of the event, and if they are not happy with anything. They can close the event at point = No show. Everyone has to go home, with huge losses to one and all etc.
4 – So all these risks are huge for us. We could lose a small furtune if we have to cancel it again. The Risks are getting too high. So we have a lot to think about between now and then.
5 – And more importantly – Not forgetting everyone’s Health and health risks due to Covid19. If it gets worse over the winter months (of which as we all know, they are predicting this), itís just not worth risking everyone’s health by going ahead with this event. Your health, Traders and our Staff etc. It’s just not worth the risk.
So Fingers crossed, that the vacines work, the Covid risks are far less and Novembers show can go ahead for one and all – Mark Askew
